Where did you get Follow My Muse? It was advice given to me by my dear friend, mentor and Uncle Jack Welpott. A master photographer who passed away in November, his words to me were always, "Just Work" and "Follow Your Muse."
In taking this advice I feel freedom in my work by not feeling boxed in to one particular thing. I have allowed myself permission to feel inspiration and passion wherever and in whatever situation it arises, my photography is a way to express it. For many years I did "specialize," in the art of hand processed black and white silver prints using a larger format camera and wet darkroom. I still see the vital part in keeping this art alive and still feel a strong connection to my spirit and God when working this way. I also connected to the photographer's of the past when setting up a tripod and looking through a glass frame composing for the final image, "in camera."
However, a year ago I purchased a digital slr and have begun working with color. I try to use color purposefully and intentionally. I am finding two totally different sides to myself and to the artistic life. For me, they are two different mediums and I feel two different ways when creating; each one fulfilling and unique.
Please take time to see my different galleries and share ideas, opinions or questions with me....
May God Bless You by helping you Follow Your Muse,
Molly
